Our Learning in Summer 2

This half term in nursery, our overarching theme is 'Our Universe' and our topic is 'Animals'. We have loved exploring this topic so far by having a special visit from a farm and thinking about what pet we would like. 

In literacy, our main texts are What the Ladybird Heard, I Want a Pet and Giraffe's Can't Dance. We have been describing the characters in our stories using adjectives and we have been labelling our pictures. 

In maths, we have been recognising and matching numerals to amounts, making and correcting errors in repeating patterns and solving numerical problems within five. We have started to compare sets of numbers by saying which is more or less and we will begin to introduce the concept of 'one more' and 'one less'. We have now started developing our language of time by learning the days of the week and ordering the sequence of our day. We are now beginning to use our key vocabulary first, next, last and then.
